I'm pretty sure that my friend ELF thinks my job is plain sailing. OK, so yesterday I spent a good portion of my time 'researching' models for a menswear event we are hosting in conjunction with Jaguar, but it's a lot harder than you might think - leafing through lookbooks and trawling the internet for the perfect man - one who looks just as good in Aussiebum (oh yes) as he does in Pal Zileri. I don't think being surrounded by Lanvin helps, or my constant shoe dilemmas for that matter (this month, the normally-a-no-no Fendi fight it out against Prada's python skin catwalk-uber-shoes. I think Prada will win).
I am just loving my gorgeous housemates - they are the cutest mix of randomness. Tonight was full of cakey-bakey-ness, as Gem made cupcakes with frosting and marshmallow hats to make up for the fact she has given up chocolate and biscuits for lent. A brave (and, some might say, foolish) move, so we were all a little ashamed for devouring mini-eggs mid-bake.
We are all a little worried though, after housebunny Sazzle was followed home by some weirdo. Thankfully a lot of screaming put paid to him, but the poor sausage was so shaken up that she didn't even bust out her dance routine when Beyonce's 'Single Ladies' came on the wireless.
In other news, I met with the hugely inspirational original Calendar Girls today to talk about a possible launch event for their new calendar - very exciting - I'm thinking full length vinyls of the ladies covering the Harvey Nichols windows - Miaow!

Pole-Dancing-Techno-Geek
Finally, we have broadband. It's good - it means instant access to Style.com and endless re-runs of Desperate Housewives, but it's bad in that I have now been forced into embracing technology. Being the most inept person you will ever meet when it comes to anything electrical, it came as a huge surprise to find that I could video call my friends for free via something called Skype, so spent a good hour giggling into my webcam (also news to me) talking to Mr Superstar. Amazing. I also finally started my own blog, which will hopefully help me to remember my remaining twenties - a blur so far, and set up a Twitter account, despite the fact that I am so addicted to Facebook I barely have time to sleep. Nosey Parkers Anonymous.
In other news, my new addiction (other than Twitter, and FB) is pole dancing. Once a week I throw myself around a pole in a bid to improve upper body strength and rid myself of the dreaded bingo wingage before the annual pilgrimmage to the White Isle. I imagined gliding gracefully around the pole, a la Kate Moss in the White Stripes video - the reality is very different.
This week's fashion fix has to be the eagerly anticipated Matthew Williamson for H&M - rumour has it that Sienna has pre-ordered the whole collection, but don't let that put you off - it's set to be the hottest collaboration since demi-Gods Christopher Kane and Marios Schwab shook up Topshop.
This week's foodie fix has to be the news that Leeds' Harvey Nichols is now open for dinner five times a week. I might work there, but that wont stop me taking advantage of the unlimited wine offer they have on. 3-courses and as much wine as you can drink in 90 mins? Sounds like a challenge to me...
